Author Guidelines

Enhancing Publication Quality: Journal Siyasah Wa Qanuniyah Effective from July 2024, Journal Siyasah Wa Qanuniyah is committed to maintaining a strict standard of academic excellence. Authors are required to comply with the following updated regulations. The journal publishes two issues annually (June and December).

1. Submission Process

All manuscripts must be submitted electronically through the Journal Siyasah Wa Qanuniyah online portal. We do not accept submissions via email.

  • Registration: Authors must register as an 'Author' before submitting: Register

  • Supplementary Files: A signed Statement of Originality must be uploaded alongside the manuscript as a supplementary file during the OJS submission process.

  • Author Metadata: Ensure that all authors' complete details (names, affiliations, and short biographies) are accurately filled in the OJS metadata form.

  • For technical assistance regarding the online submission system, please contact the editorial support at [email protected].

2. Article Requirements

  • Originality and Authenticity: Articles must be research-based, entirely original, and not currently under review or published elsewhere. Translations of previously published manuscripts are strictly prohibited.

  • Scope Compliance: Submitted articles must align with the journal's focus and scope (Islamic politics and Islamic law).

  • Similarity Check and Plagiarism Report: Manuscripts must have a similarity index of no more than 35% (excluding bibliography). Authors are highly encouraged to upload their own plagiarism check results (e.g., Turnitin report) as a supplementary file during submission. The editorial team will also conduct a final similarity screening before the review process begins.

3. Formatting and Structure Guidelines

  • Language Policy and Bilingual Publication: Manuscripts written in English are highly prioritized. Submissions in Indonesian are warmly welcomed; however, once an Indonesian manuscript is officially accepted for publication, the author will be directed to translate the final manuscript into English. This allows the article to be published bilingually (Indonesian and English) to reach a broader international audience. Arabic submissions are also accepted.

  • Length and Typography:

    • Word count: 5,000–10,000 words (including references).

    • Font: Book Antiqua, size 12.

    • Spacing: Single (1.0) line spacing.

    • Paper size: A4 with margins set to 4 cm (Top), 4 cm (Left), 3 cm (Bottom), and 3 cm (Right).

  • Manuscript Structure: Articles should generally follow a structured format: Introduction, Methods, Results and Discussion, Conclusion, and References.

  • Blind Review Compliance: To ensure a double-blind peer-review process, authors must remove any identifying information (e.g., author names, affiliations, email addresses, and self-citations that reveal identity) from the main manuscript document.

4. Abstract and Keywords

  • Language: Abstracts must be provided in both Indonesian and English.

  • Content: The abstract must be a single paragraph of fewer than 250 words. It must clearly outline the general context, research objectives, methodology, core findings, and the novel contribution of the research.

  • Restrictions: Avoid using citations and uncommon abbreviations in the abstract.

  • Keywords: Provide 3 to 5 keywords or phrases immediately following the abstract, separated by semicolons (;).

5. References and Citations

  • Reference Manager: Authors are required to use a reference management tool (such as Mendeley, Zotero, or EndNote) to manage citations and bibliographies.

  • Citation Style: All citations and references must consistently follow the Chicago Manual of Style 17th Edition (Full Note) format. Please download and refer to our official Citation Style Guide and Article Template on the journal’s website.
